Papikra

It is a variety of pepper, which is high in vitamin C. Currently; Peru is the main producer of paprika and the one that grows the most. It is the agro industrial boom of the coastal strip of Peru. This product is used in different sectors such as in the food industry as a natural coloring and to flavor meals.

Origin

The paprika is a crop native to South America, where it is produced on the north coast of the country, having as main producers the departments of La Libertad, Lima, Ica and Arequipa.

Geographical distribution

Paprika is a crop native to South America, where it is produced on the north coast of the country; it has the advantage of being produced throughout the year, which allows it to supply both national and international markets. The main production areas in Peru are: Arequipa, Ica, Lima, Ancash, Lambayeque and Piura. It is cultivated in the valleys of Tacna, Majes, ICA, Chincha, Cañete, Huaraz, Barranca, Vira, Ahíjan, Motupe and Piura.
