Geographical distribution

Minthostachys mollis, commonly known as muña, is a species of woody shrub, native to Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. It is a native plant that distributes in the Andean areas of South America. In Peru it is located in the part of the Peruvian highlands between 2,500 and 3,500 a.m.s.l

It grows between 2,700 and 3,400 meters above sea level. Its cultivation is very widespread in the Andean regions, especially in Apurímac, Ayacucho, Cuzco, Huancavelica and Puno.
